Robin Mack is appointed Managing Director by Tourism Australia.

When serving in an interim capacity when Phillipa Harrison resigned in August 2025, Tourism Australia has confirmed Robin Mack’s appointment as its new Managing Director, a permanent position. With the appointment, the Australian tourism industry enters a significant new phase. Mack has been with tourist Australia for more than ten years and has almost thirty years of expertise in the international travel and tourist industry. Overseeing the organization’s presence in 16 major international markets, including Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Vietnam, he most recently held the position of Executive General Manager  Global Markets & Business Events. In his prior job, Mack was also in charge of Business Events Australia, which improved the nation’s standing in the leisure and MICE sectors and Tourism Australia’s commercial team, which included managing international distribution development and strategic alliances. Mack had a solid background in the airline, wholesale, and retail travel industries before joining Tourism Australia in 2012. Prior to moving into destination marketing, he held positions with well known airlines like British Airways and Qantas. Mack is anticipated to be a powerful supporter of Australian tourism operators and destinations, further boosting Australia’s visibility and competitiveness on the international scene, thanks to his broad industry knowledge, cooperative leadership style and understanding of international markets.

Don Farrell, a South Australian senator, minister of trade and tourism and special minister of state, commented on the appointment, saying, “Robin is well positioned to take up the position of Managing Director, with nearly 30 years experience in tourism and many years overseeing Tourism Australia’s operation in key markets around the world.”
