The 500th Turkish Airlines aircraft is unveiled.

Turkish Airlines has revealed that the “TK Family,” its 500th aircraft, will be joining the fleet. Its voyage, which started in 1933 with a small fleet of five aircraft, reached a major milestone when the aircraft joined the fleet at the end of 2025.

There was a lot of participation in the launch of the 500th aircraft, which had a unique livery made using pictures of Turkish Airlines’ 100,000 workers and retirees. Executives from Turkish Airlines and its subsidiaries, as well as past top executives, staff members, retirees, and notable figures from the aviation business, attended the event at Istanbul Airport.

At this unique ceremony, Prof. Ahmet Bolat, the Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines, said: “Our 500th aircraft is much more than just a new addition to our fleet; it is a symbol of 93 years of dedication, determination, and shared purpose. With 65 aircraft in 2003, we significantly sped our ascent to the top, and today we are proud to have over 500 aircraft and reach 356 locations on six continents. The 500th aircraft was a fantasy when we shot our “When You Dream” ad twelve years ago, which included 247 planes and 247 destinations. Today is a fantastic day for the Turkish Airlines family as they watch that goal come true. We view our 500th aircraft as the start of the ‘Second 500’ era rather than a milestone signalling its conclusion. In keeping with our objective of having 1,000 aircraft in our fleet by 2036, we are still dedicated to making our nation one of the world’s aviation hubs.”

To commemorate the start of the airline’s “Second 500” period, the “TK Family” planes conducted a unique ceremonial fly as part of this reveal, tracing the number 500 in the sky. The flight, which was operated under flight number TK500, carried Turkish Airlines executives, former top executives, and staff members in addition to the children of martyrs and their families.

In addition to representing the airline’s present strength, the 500th aircraft also represents its goal of having 1,000 aircraft in service by 2036.
