Radisson RED Auckland marks RHG’s New Zealand debut.

Situated in the center of Auckland’s Arts District at 33 Lorne Street, the design-led hotel infuses one of the city’s most innovative precincts with colourful aesthetics, artistic vitality, and what is expected to become New Zealand’s largest outdoor rooftop space. The facility, which is located in Auckland’s Central Business District, combines modern hospitality with significant cultural and community elements.

Radisson RED Auckland features 322 guest rooms and suites, each designed to reflect the theatrical pulse of the surrounding Arts District. Public spaces are defined by gallery-style installations, immersive lighting and bold design elements inspired by performance arts and urban culture.

Standard Room View
The use of complex textures, vibrant colours, and carefully chosen artwork in guest rooms is modelled after the dressing rooms of performers. Higher-floor rooms offer expansive skyline views, while the Suite Panorama provides sweeping vistas of Auckland City, Albert Park and the harbour.

The Auckland Art Gallery, Civic Theatre, Sky Tower, Auckland Museum, Waiheke Island ferry port, and West Coast beaches are all easily accessible by foot from the hotel due to its prime location. The hotel is positioned as a handy base for both leisure and business tourists because the neighbourhood is home to some of the best cafés and eateries in the city. Interestingly, the hotel is one of the few in Auckland that allows pets.

Tim Cordon, Chief Operating Officer, MEA & SEAP, Radisson Hotel Group stated, “Radisson RED thrives in cities fuelled by creativity, culture, and community, and Auckland perfectly captures that spirit. A significant turning point in our expansion in Australasia, this opening is also a proud moment for our upscale Radisson RED brand, which adds a creative twist to the traditional. We are excited for everyone to see Auckland in RED and experience a hotel brimming with energy, design, and unique moments as the Radisson Hotel Group makes its debut in New Zealand and the first Radisson RED in the area.”

Crowning the hotel is a vibrant rooftop venue seamlessly connected to dynamic event spaces. The rooftop can be divided into four adaptable, naturally lit spaces that can accommodate up to 219 persons in a cocktail-style setting. This makes it a great venue for social gatherings, weddings, business events, and live performances.

The soon-to-open Rooftop Restaurant & Bar will feature sweeping open-air views of Auckland’s Sky Tower and is positioned to become one of the city’s most engaging social destinations. The concept aligns with Radisson RED’s “Share & Connect” philosophy, where food, music and mixology come together to foster interaction and community.Along with a fully furnished fitness center that is accessible everyday from 5 AM to 11 PM, the hotel also has a bar and dining area open all day.

“The opening of Radisson RED Auckland signifies an exciting new chapter for the city, one that celebrates creativity, connection, and a bold new way to experience hospitality” stated Reinout Engel, General Manager, Radisson RED Auckland. The Radisson RED Auckland is more than just a place to stay; it’s a creative hub where visitors and locals alike can connect to the CBD’s pulse and experience the city’s vibrancy, culture, and energy right away. Each area has been designed to inspire creativity, foster interpersonal relationships, and restore a playful element to travel.
