Dusit International Appoints Marc Handl as MD of Dusit Thani Bangkok.
Marc Handl has been named Managing Director of Dusit Thani Bangkok, Dusit International’s redesigned luxury hotel with a view of Lumpini Park. As part of the broader Dusit Central Park development, he will also be in charge of Dusit Parkside and Dusit Residences.
Handl, a third-generation hotelier, has worked in upscale hotels, resorts, and mixed-use projects all over the world for more than thirty years. Throughout his career, he has held top leadership positions with internationally renowned companies in Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas, including Park Hyatt, The Ritz-Carlton, Aman, and Rosewood Hotels and Resorts.
Marc Handl has been appointed Managing Director of Dusit Thani Bangkok, a reimagined luxury hotel with a view of Lumpini Park in central Bangkok, as well as Dusit Residences and Dusit Parkside, two upcoming luxury residential offerings managed by Dusit International, one of Thailand’s top integrated hospitality companies. A shopping center, an office tower, and one of Thailand’s biggest rooftop parks are all part of Dusit Central Park, one of the city’s most important mixed-use developments.
Handl is a third-generation hotelier with over thirty years of global expertise in upscale hotels, resorts, and mixed-use projects. With expertise in Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas, he has held top executive positions with well-known brands such as Park Hyatt, The Ritz-Carlton, Aman, and Rosewood.
Handl provides significant operational and commercial knowledge in sales, marketing, and multi-property management, with a background in food and beverage. He comes to Dusit from Abu Dhabi National Hotels, where he managed a portfolio of fifteen properties under ten different international brands.
His hiring coincides with Dusit building on the success of its redesigned flagship, which reopened in September 2024 after undergoing a thorough renovation that respects its history. Since then, the establishment has been awarded a Michelin Star for its speciality restaurant, Cannubi by Umberto Bombana, and a Michelin Key for its lodging and service.
Additionally, Dusit is getting ready for the gradual opening of its branded apartments, Dusit Parkside and Dusit apartments, which provide unique luxury living ideas inside the same tower with a view of Lumpini Park. The company’s premium positioning in Bangkok is anticipated to be further strengthened by these initiatives.
