Marriott International Signs Nine Deals for 1,000 New Rooms in Greece.

With the announcement of nine new hotel additions in Greece, Marriott International has strengthened its long-term market expansion strategy and added about 1,000 rooms. In order to further expand its portfolio in the nation, two new brands, Residence Inn by Marriott and Le Méridien, are part of the pipeline.

In Greece, Marriott presently runs 47 hotels with more than 6,000 rooms under ten different brands; the new additions are anticipated to increase the company’s footprint in island, coastal, and urban areas.

“As one of the world’s most sought-after leisure destinations, Greece continues to offer significant opportunities for Marriott to expand its footprint across its islands, coastal regions, and urban centers. These new additions highlight the ongoing demand for our varied and motivating range of brands in the Greek market and demonstrate the strong faith that owners and franchisees have in Marriott,” stated Jerome Briet, Chief Development Officer, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Marriott International.

The 57-room Residence Inn by Marriott Athens, which will open in 2027 to meet the rising need for long-term lodging in the capital, is one of the major initiatives. The brand’s culture-led positioning will be introduced to the island in 2027 with the opening of the 229-room Le Méridien Sissi Crete.

The 314-room Milatos Marriott Resort Crete, which is scheduled to open in 2028, and the 40-room The tenant, the Tribute Portfolio Hotel Heraklion Crete, is scheduled to open in 2026. The 40-room Autograph Collection in Orosea, Paros, is also slated to debut in 2026.

With the acquisition of Hymnos, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa in Zakynthos, Marriott is expanding its luxury presence. It is anticipated that the 94-room resort on the beach will open in 2026.

With the launch of Tella Thera and Stamna Sifnos in 2025 and the signing of Ervé, Milos, which is anticipated to open later this year, the business has already broadened its portfolio of Design Hotels in the lifestyle sector.

Ten Marriott Bonvoy brands, including luxury, premium, and select-service segments, are presently available in Greece, demonstrating the company’s wide representation across various traveller segments.
