Belarus and Azerbaijan improve their bilateral tourism relations.

At a recent meeting in Minsk, Belarus, the Azerbaijani delegation also took part in three panel discussions on important tourism-related topics. The topics of discussion included eco-friendly and active activities, as well as gastronomy and agritourism.

The State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) took part in the International Tourism Forum “Travel HUB Commonwealth,” which took place in Minsk, Belarus, from April 7–9. The forum brought together experts, industry representatives, and tourism authorities from throughout the CIS to discuss important trends and opportunities influencing regional tourism development.

The head of Belarus’s National Tourism Agency, Kirill Masharsky, met with the Azerbaijani delegation as part of the forum. Strengthening collaboration between the National Tourism Agency of Belarus and the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan was the main topic of discussion, with a focus on improving bilateral relations and mutually expanding tourism flows.

Meetings with top Belarusian tour operators to discuss improving tourism exchange between the two nations and explore collaboration options with the Belarusian travel industry ongoing participation in the event.

Additionally, three panel discussions on important tourism-related topics were attended by the Azerbaijani delegation, Jalal Ismayilov, Director of the Representative Office of ATB in the Russian Federation, and Kanan Guluzade, Advisor to the Chairman of the State Tourism Agency. In addition to the roundtables “Gastronomic Brands as a Tool for Destination Promotion,” “Agritourism in the CIS,” and “Active and Ecological Tourism in the CIS,” this featured gastronomic and agritourism as well as active and eco experiences.

The group gave destination presentations throughout the talks, showcasing Azerbaijan’s varied tourism options and its increasing allure as a year-round vacation destination for CIS tourists, including its rich culinary legacy, agritourism experiences, and nature-based travel. Regional cuisine, wine routes, farm-based tourism, and outdoor activities in rural and mountainous regions were highlighted.
