Scoot adds 11 Airbus A320neo aircraft to its fleet.

The airline has exercised its options to buy six more. Beginning in 2028, the new aircraft will be delivered gradually.

Five Airbus A320neo family aircraft have been firmly ordered by Scoot, Singapore Airlines’ (SIA) low-cost subsidiary. Additionally, the airline exercised options for six more aircraft from its 2014 deal with Airbus. Beginning in 2028, the new aircraft will be delivered gradually.

The airline’s orderbook for the A320neo family will reach 20 aircraft with the addition of these 11 aircraft, which will be powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-JM (GTF) engines. The new aircraft will have a single class arrangement with 186 seats on the A320neo and 236 seats on the A321neo. Please refer to Annex A for further details.

Scoot will be able to introduce new services and optimise feed into the larger SIA Group network thanks to the additional A320neo family aircraft, which will increase the airline’s capacity and route deployment flexibility over a five- to six-hour radius. These capabilities will strengthen Singapore’s position as a leading international air hub by expanding and deepening its air connections between Southeast Asia, North Asia, and beyond. Confidence in the long-term prospects for air travel, especially in the Asia-Pacific area, is also reflected in this growth.

The airline plans to serve 85 destinations by June 2026, which is roughly half of the places that Singapore now connects to through Changi Airport. 37 of these locations are run solely by the airline, highlighting the carrier’s contribution to creating new direct city connections and boosting traffic flows that could otherwise go unnoticed.

“We anticipate travel demand to continue growing, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region in the coming years,” stated Leslie Thng, CEO of Scoot. The A320neo family aircraft’s range and capacity will allow Scoot to deepen and broaden the SIA Group’s network connectivity, opening up new growth prospects for the SIA Group and giving consumers more convenient travel options.

“We are able to run a large network of flights because to Scoot’s combination of Embraer E190-E2 regional jets, Airbus A320 family narrowbody aircraft, and Boeing 787 family widebody aircraft. This includes short, medium, and long-haul routes that strengthen Singapore’s standing as a major international aviation center and complement the larger SIA network,” Thng continued.

24 widebody Boeing 787 Dreamliners (including the -8 and -9 models), 30 A320 family aircraft (six A320ceos, 12 A320neos, and 12 A321neos), and nine Embraer E190-E2 aircraft make up Scoot’s current fleet of 63 aircraft. Scoot intends to phase out its six A320ceo aircraft by 2028 as part of its fleet renewal program and to maintain a more fuel-efficient fleet.

Since 2024, Scoot has expanded its fleet to include Embraer E190-E2 regional planes, which are among the most fuel-efficient and silent aircraft in their class. Eight A320ceos were swapped out for new A320neos and A321neos by the airline in FY2025–2026. By burning up to 20% less fuel, the A320neo family of aircraft lowers carbon emissions and helps the SIA Group reach its 2050 target of net zero carbon emissions.
