IHG introduces the Northern Territory’s 88-key voco Darwin Suites.
IHG Hotels & Resorts’ rapidly expanding premium brand has made its debut in the Northern Territory with the formal opening of voco Darwin Suites in the city center. Additionally, the newly constructed hotel is the first voco Suites product in Australia, offering one- and two-bedroom suites.
The hotel has 88 suites and is situated at 87 Mitchell Street. Every suite has a kitchen or kitchenette, a designated workspace, and a lounge area. Additionally, the hotel lobby’s Marketplace provides locally sourced goods for visitors to savour or prepare in the comfort of their own space.
To accommodate both business and leisure visitors, the hotel includes Aviary Bar & Brasserie, an outdoor plunge pool, a 24-hour fitness center, a light-filled meeting and event space, smart in-room technology, quick Wi-Fi, and upgraded bathroom amenities.
According to Portfolio General Manager Sean DeSouza, the opening is indicative of the growing popularity of Darwin as a travel destination. “Voco Darwin Suites is a momentous occasion for the Territory and our team.” This opening offers a distinctively local feeling of warmth, personality, and connection while bringing a globally renowned premium brand into the center of Darwin.
The opening in Darwin joins establishments on the Gold Coast, in Melbourne, Brisbane, the Hunter Valley, Gosford, and Queenstown in the expanding portfolio of Voco hotels throughout Australia and New Zealand. Now, the brand has more than 100 open hotels across the globe.
