Norwegian Aura will debut NCL’s first Indian restaurant at sea.

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has announced a range of new dining, wellness and entertainment experiences aboard Norwegian Aura, its largest ship and the latest addition to its Prima Plus Class. The ship is scheduled to begin sailing in May 2027, introducing several new concepts designed to give guests greater choice, relaxation and entertainment.

One of the key highlights will be Tamara, NCL’s first Indian speciality restaurant. Located on Deck 8, the restaurant will draw inspiration from North Indian temples and courtyards, featuring warm earth tones, detailed finishes and an open kitchen equipped with traditional tandoor ovens. The menu will include dishes such as Short-Rib Dosa with tomato sambar, Lamb Biryani and tableside Green Papaya Salad. The concept builds on the popularity of Indian cuisine at the Indulge Food Hall aboard NCL’s Prima Class ships.

Norwegian Aura will offer 22 food and beverage options spanning more than 10 cuisines. The new Panorama Room will provide a complimentary immersive dining experience using large LED displays, multi-channel audio, synchronised lighting and rotating visual effects. Several established restaurants, including Le Bistro, Sukhothai, Palomar, Onda by Scarpetta, Cagney’s Steakhouse, Hasuki and Nama, will also be refurbished or expanded. Indulge Food Hall will feature nine global food stations, while Surfside Café will be expanded.

Wellness will be another major focus. The two-deck Mandara Spa, developed by Rockwell Group, will feature what NCL describes as the industry’s largest Thermal Suite, with 15 wellness amenities, including 11 new experiences. These will include a Sensory Rain Pool, Blue Glow Suite, Foot Spa, Waterfall Experience, Snow Cave, Reflection Pool and guided hot and cold plunges. The spa will also offer a Salt Room, Meditation Lounge, Finnish and Charcoal Saunas, Aromatic Steam Room and Zen Lounge. Additional facilities will include 24 treatment rooms, a salon, Skin Lab, medi-spa, acupuncture services and dedicated fitness studios.

Public and family spaces will also be expanded. Penrose Bar & Atrium will have more than double the seating and a new entertainment stage, while several new bars will be introduced. Ocean Heights will offer six slides, an 82-foot Aura Ropes Course, Moon Climber, carnival-style activities and a nine-hole mini-golf course. The ship will also feature NCL’s first overhanging cabanas overlooking Vibe Beach Club.

Norwegian Aura will debut on May 21, 2027, sailing from Trieste to Barcelona before continuing to Miami. It will later operate Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, visiting destinations including Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, Tortola, Roatan, Costa Maya, Cozumel and Great Stirrup Cay.
