In Agartala, Tripura, IHCL signs the Gateway Hotel.

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has signed a Gateway-branded hotel in Agartala, Tripura, expanding the brand’s presence in Northeast India. The 104-key brownfield project is being developed in partnership with Samashti Hotels & Resorts Pvt. Ltd.

Leah Tata, Vice President and Brand Leader, Gateway Hotels and Resorts, IHCL, said, “Gateway brand expands in the Northeast with this signing, marking the second anniversary of the re-imagined brand. Agartala is witnessing increased demand for hospitality offerings led by the growth of economic activity in the region.”

She added, “Gateway has built strong momentum over the last two years across key leisure and commercial markets, serving as the ‘Gateway to the Destination’. With over 60 hotels in its portfolio, the brand remains well poised to reach its guidance of 100 hotels by 2030.”

The Gateway Agartala will feature 104 rooms along with an all-day dining restaurant, speciality restaurant and bar. Leisure facilities will include a spa, fitness centre and swimming pool, while banqueting venues and meeting rooms will cater to business and social events.

Alluri Harsha Varma, Director, Samashti Hotels & Resorts said, “As the state capital continues to grow in prominence, we are happy to partner with IHCL and introduce the Gateway brand to Agartala.”

Agartala, the capital of Tripura, serves as the state’s administrative, political and commercial centre and is also known for attractions including Ujjayanta Palace and Neermahal.

With the addition of the Gateway Agartala project, IHCL will have three hotels in Tripura, including two under development.
