Tourism Bhutan appoints BlinkBrand for India and MENA.

The Department of Tourism, Ministry of Industry, Commerce & Employment, Kingdom of Bhutan, has engaged BlinkBrand Solutions as its Indian and MENA Public Relations and Sales Representative.

Bhutan is entering a new era of market development, focusing on strengthening and extending its source markets and deepening traveller involvement to meet its tourism goals.

Bhutan’s largest and most crucial tourism market is India, and the mandate will enhance the destination’s reach and awareness in fast-growing, high-yield MENA.

The alliance combines Bhutan’s High-Value, Low-Volume tourism concept with BlinkBrand’s expertise in engaging evolving travel businesses and high-value travellers.

The Bhutan Integrated Tourism Master Plan 2025-2034 provides a long-term framework for tourism as a sustainable national development engine. The plan emphasises diversity, regional balance, sustainability, and regenerative tourism.

Tourism growth should benefit communities, culture, the economy, and the environment while preserving Bhutan’s natural and cultural legacy.

Bhutan’s Gross National Happiness (GNH) ideology and commitment to its High-Value, Low-Volume tourism model underpin this strategy. The goal is to attract more visitors, encourage discerning travellers to stay longer and have more meaningful experiences, distribute tourism benefits across areas and seasons, and help host communities.

Bhutan Department of Tourism Director Damcho Rinzin remarked, “This mandate represents more than a conventional destination marketing appointment. Beyond standard Bhutan itineraries, it showcases the diversity of experiences in our Himalayan nation. Through this mandate, Blink will strengthen Bhutan’s engagement with the travel trade, media, consumers, and relevant travel communities, promoting Bhutan as a destination for wellness and spirituality, culture, nature and adventure, family travel, luxury, MICE and Destination Weddings, deeply immersive experiential journeys, and slow travel.”

India is unique and advantageous in Bhutan’s tourism ecosystem, Rinzin remarked. India, Bhutan’s closest neighbour and largest source market, typically brings the most visitors. Bhutan and India share profound historical, cultural, spiritual, and people-to-people ties, as well as many direct flight routes and land border crossings, making Bhutan one of India’s most accessible international destinations.

India is Bhutan’s largest source market and has strong historical, cultural, spiritual, and people-to-people linkages. Bhutan is also easily accessible to Indian tourists via direct flights and land borders. Indians need an entry permission, not a visa.

BlinkBrand Head of Marketing and Strategic Alliances Anisha Prakash said, “BlinkBrand is delighted to partner with the Department of Tourism, Bhutan, to support the country’s tourism sector’s continued growth. Our goal is to bring the Kingdom’s evolving story and approach that aligns with its national vision of growth to the right audiences in India and the MENA region, deepening engagement with the right trade, media, and high-value traveller segments, and increasing visitation while respecting the destination’s high-value, low-volume, and regenerative tourism.”

In the partnership, BlinkBrand will use its destination marketing, public relations, media relations, travel trade engagement, consumer campaigns, storytelling, influencer marketing, and experiential activations to promote Bhutan in India and the MENA region.
