SriLankan Airlines Boosts Revenue with AI- and ML-Powered Revenue Management.

With real-time seat availability and predictive analytics, the system aims to provide a better passenger experience across all sales channels by enabling dynamic pricing and more intelligent inventory optimisation.
After implementing a next-generation Origin and Destination (O&D) revenue management platform powered by AI and machine learning (ML), SriLankan Airlines claimed an increase in revenue.
Kshanaka Saparamadu, Head of Revenue Management at SriLankan Airlines said, “Adopting the newest revenue management technology is a testament to our commitment to continuous innovation and digital transformation. We are improving our current procedures and setting ourselves up for long-term success in contemporary airline retailing with the launch of PROS Revenue Management Advantage and Amadeus Revenue Availability and Active Valuation, making sure we stay ahead in a sector that is evolving quickly.”
“This shift to a dynamic, integrated revenue management system reflects our strategic focus on remaining agile in an increasingly competitive and rapidly evolving airline industry,” stated Chamara Perera, Group Head of IT at SriLankan Airlines. SriLankan Airlines is improving its capacity to react quickly to market changes and satisfy the changing needs of modern travellers as the aviation industry rapidly undergoes digital transformation.
The platform uses AI algorithms and ML models to optimise premium seat allocation, increase capacity and demand alignment, and react quickly to market changes. It is powered by PROS’ AI-driven Revenue Management Advantage (RMA) and Amadeus Revenue Availability and Active Valuation (RAAV).
In addition to improving SriLankan Airlines’ competitiveness, scalability, and agility in a fast-paced international aviation market, this effort also improved cooperation between the pricing, demand, and flight analyst teams and won two awards. It received recognition from PROS with the Growth Catalyst Award at the Outperformer Customer Awards 2025 in Las Vegas and from the Project Management Institute Sri Lanka Chapter with the Silver Award in the AI and Data Science category at the National Project Management Excellence Awards 2025 in Colombo.
