IndiGo Boosts Sri Lanka Connectivity with Direct Delhi–Colombo Flights.
In an effort to improve its connectivity to Sri Lanka, IndiGo has announced the introduction of additional direct flights between Delhi and Colombo. Six weekly flights using Airbus A320 aircraft will begin service on March 29, 2026.
It is anticipated that the new route will improve travel choices between India and Sri Lanka, meeting the increasing demand in the trade, business, and leisure sectors. Strong historical, cultural, and economic ties exist between the two nations, and increased air connectivity is probably going to increase travel and bilateral interactions even more.
IndiGo will run more than 55 weekly flights to Colombo from five Indian cities: Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Delhi, with the addition of the Delhi–Colombo service. In order to strengthen its network throughout the island nation, the airline also operates ten weekly flights from Chennai and Tiruchirappalli to Jaffna.
Flight 6E 1169 is scheduled to depart Delhi at 18:40 and arrive in Colombo at 22:20, while flight 6E 1170 is scheduled to depart Colombo at 23:20 and arrive in Delhi at 02:55 the next day. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays are the days that the flights will run.
