FitsAir begins offering direct flights from Ahmedabad to Colombo.

With FitsAir, Sri Lanka’s first private international airline, starting direct flights between Ahmedabad and Colombo on June 19, 2026, travellers from Gujarat now have easier access to Sri Lanka. The new service, which is run in collaboration with Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, City of Dreams Sri Lanka, and Walkers Tours, is anticipated to improve business and tourism relations between India and Sri Lanka while promoting the island as a practical short-distance international travel destination.
By connecting Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, the nonstop service cuts travel time to about 3 hours and 40 minutes and does away with the necessity for connecting flights.
Families, honeymooners, luxury vacationers, wellness seekers, destination wedding guests, and business travellers seeking short overseas breaks are among the many types of travellers targeted by the new route. Along with Sri Lanka’s beaches, shopping, food, and entertainment options, it also promotes the country’s cultural and historical attractions, such as the Ramayana Trail.
“Indian travellers are increasingly looking for international destinations that combine accessibility with premium experiences,” stated Kamal Munasinghe, General Manager of City of Dreams Sri Lanka and Senior Vice President of Colombo Hotels and Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts, in response to the launch. Travellers from Gujarat can now more easily visit Colombo and the City of Dreams in Sri Lanka thanks to this new route.
“We are thrilled to introduce direct connectivity between Ahmedabad and Colombo,” stated Ammar Kassim, Director of FitsAir. The route is intended to improve tourism and cultural exchange between India and Sri Lanka while providing visitors with a smooth and comfortable travel experience.
The airline stated that Colombo is one of the most accessible international locations for Indian travellers thanks to the new service, reduced journey times, well chosen vacation packages, and travel amenities like UPI payment acceptance.
The Ahmedabad–Colombo route will be run by FitsAir three times a week.

FitsAir’s Airbus narrow-body aircraft will be used for the trips, providing speedy international travel, light snacks, and onboard hospitality.
Access to City of Dreams Sri Lanka, the first integrated resort destination in South Asia that provides opulent lodging, entertainment, eating, nightlife, leisure activities, and big weddings and events all under one roof, is further strengthened by the launch.
In addition, visitors can extend their itineraries to places like Kandy and the southern beaches of Sri Lanka while exploring the larger portfolio of Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts in Colombo, which includes Cinnamon Grand Colombo, Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo, and Cinnamon Red Colombo.
