Marriott and CG Hospitality to Bring Ritz-Carlton and Westin to Kathmandu.

Marriott International and CG Hospitality Global have reached a deal to build three new high-end hotels in Nepal and India, increasing Marriott’s footprint in important South Asian cities and leisure areas. The developments, which are expected to open by 2031, will expand Marriott’s regional offering by around 450 rooms.

Along with The Westin Kathmandu and JW Marriott Hotel Siliguri in India, the agreement also calls for The Ritz-Carlton to make its debut in Nepal with The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu. David Marriott, Chairman of the Board of Marriott International; Dr Binod K. Chaudhary, Chairman, CG Corp Global & CG Hospitality; Rahul Chaudhary, Managing Director & CEO, CG Corp Global & CG Hospitality Global; Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International; and Kiran Andicot, Senior Vice President, South Asia, Marriott International, all attended the signing.

With 150 rooms, including 30 suites, five dining options, The Ritz-Carlton Spa, an outdoor pool, and more than 1,100 square meters of meeting and event space, The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu will be the luxury brand’s first location in Nepal. The hotel will be about five kilometres from Tribhuvan International Airport and close to Thamel and important cultural landmarks.

With 150 rooms and suites, three dining options, a WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio, Heavenly Spa by Westin, a rooftop pool, and more than 700 square meters of event space, the Westin Kathmandu is just seven kilometres from the airport.

The JW Marriott Hotel Siliguri will provide the brand’s high-end, wellness-focused offerings to Northeast India’s gateway city. The hotel will have 150 rooms and suites, four restaurants, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, a Spa by JW, and about 1,500 square meters of conference and event space. The distance between the property and Bagdogra Airport will be roughly ten km.
