Minor Hotels Expands India Portfolio with Anantara Kolkata at Salt Lake’s World Trade Centre.
With the signing of the Anantara Kolkata Hotel, Minor Hotels has made its debut in Kolkata, one of the biggest cities in India and a burgeoning MICE destination.
The hotel is set to open in 2032 as a component of the World Trade Center Salt Lake Kolkata, which will be situated in Sector V, a well-known corporate and IT center. The 11-acre project will be the first World Trade Center in eastern India, with Grade A office, retail, and hospitality areas. Travellers from both local and foreign countries can easily visit the location, which is about ten miles from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport.
Anantara Kolkata will have about 170 guest rooms and suites, a lobby lounge and two dining options a rooftop speciality restaurant and an all-day restaurant. Along with recreational amenities including an Anantara Spa, wellness center, gym, and swimming pool, the hotel will also have a ballroom and adaptable conference spaces to accommodate the increasing demand from MICE.

Aryan Realty and Merlin Group are working together to create the World Trade Center Salt Lake.

The deal is a component of Minor Hotels’ larger plan to grow in India. The group now runs the Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur Hotel, which opened in 2025, and recently announced Anantara Zanti Coorg Resort and Avani+ Sunray Beach Visakhapatnam Resort, both of which are slated to open in 2028.
