TAAI Northern Region celebrates 75th anniversary in New Delhi.
In honour of the association’s 75th anniversary, the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) Northern Region organised a spectacular evening in New Delhi that brought together travel industry professionals to celebrate the organization’s history and look forward to its future phase.
The event also served as a launchpad for the 69th TAAI Convention and Exhibition, which will be held at ITC Royal Bengal in Kolkata from October 25 to 27, 2026. The conference is especially important because it marks the 75th anniversary of TAAI’s founding in 1951.
The milestone convention’s theme, “Kal, Aaj Aur Kal,” will reflect on the association’s history, acknowledge its current state, and look to the future of TAAI and the travel sector.
Speaking at the occasion, Sunil Kumar R, President of TAAI, stated that the travel industry participated heavily in the New Delhi event and that it created a lot of interest in the next convention.
About 200 people of the travel industry joined us to commemorate 75 years of TAAI, and it was a fantastic evening in New Delhi. Seeing how everyone in attendance understood the significance of this milestone was encouraging, according to Sunil.
He continued, “We are looking forward to a strong delegation from New Delhi, and launching the TAAI Convention during the evening made the occasion even more special.”
According to Sunil, the 2026 conference will be especially significant because it will take place in India at the 75th anniversary of TAAI.
“For us, this convention will be really memorable. In honour of TAAI’s 75th anniversary, it is being held in India. Our journey is reflected in our theme, “Kal, Aaj Aur Kal”. Our past is important to us, our present is very important, and our future is even more important.” he said.
“We want the industry to be there and celebrate this milestone together,” Sunil continued, inviting members of the travel community to attend the milestone event in Kolkata.
As the association celebrates 75 years and looks to the future, travel agents, tourism stakeholders, and industry partners will come together in Kolkata for the 69th TAAI Convention and Exhibition.
