Thomas Cook India and the Gujarati government sign an MOU.

In line with current state policies, laws, and regulations, the Gujarati government will assist Thomas Cook India in obtaining the required licenses, registrations, approvals, and clearances, where applicable, as part of the MOU. The Government of Gujarat (Gujarat Tourism) and Thomas Cook (India) Limited have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Through targeted destination promotion measures, the partnership aims to increase Gujarat’s attractiveness and visibility among Indian tourists.

The MOU was signed at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2026 on January 12, 2026, at Marwadi University in Rajkot. In front of senior authorities and state dignitaries, the agreement was formally signed by Romil Pant, Executive Vice President & Business Head – Leisure, Thomas Cook (India) Limited, and Ravindrasinh Jadeja, Officer on Special Duty, Tourism Department, Government of Gujarat. Thomas Cook India’s broad omnichannel, pan-India distribution network, emphasis on product development, in-depth consumer insights, and marketing know-how are combined with Gujarat Tourism’s destination development ambition in this relationship.

In order to increase destination advocacy and conversion, the partnership will concentrate on organised training and knowledge-building programs for Thomas Cook India’s travel specialists and channel partners. By raising awareness and consideration for the state’s varied offerings from legacy and culture to spirituality, wildlife, nature, and experience travel across important domestic source markets, the MOU seeks to actively promote Gujarat tourism and increase arrivals and visits.

“We are honoured to sign this MOU with the Government of Gujarat and partner with a State that sets a strong benchmark for growth and collaboration,” stated Rajeev Kale, President & Country Head Holidays, MICE, Visa, Thomas Cook (India) Limited. This collaboration is well-timed as Gujarat continues to solidify its place on India’s tourism map, which is anchored by famous sites like Gir Forest, the Rann of Kutch, and the Statue of Unity. It also boasts a rich cultural legacy, spiritual centres, a variety of wildlife experiences, and an expanding list of lesser-known but fascinating locations throughout the State. Our goal is to leverage Thomas Cook India’s omnichannel/physical clicks & bricks approach and our devoted customer base to develop a multifaceted strategy covering leisure, MICE, and BLeisure travel. With the support of our consumer insights, engagement platforms, and local knowledge, my team and I are eager to collaborate closely with Gujarat tourist in order to promote the destination, encourage travel, and make a significant contribution to the State’s tourist industry’s long-term success.
