IHCL opens Tree of Life Himalaya, Hartola in Uttarakhand.

The launch of Tree of Life Himalaya, Hartola in Uttarakhand has been announced by Indian Hotels Company (IHCL).

Tree of Life Himalaya, which offers sweeping views of the Trishul and Nanda Devi peaks, is situated at an elevation of about 7,000 feet and is encircled by old oak woods, fruit orchards, and a natural water spring.

“With slow travel evolving as a travel trend, demand for destinations that offer authentic, nature-led experiences is on the rise,” stated Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President for Select Service Business, IHCL. This change in traveller preferences is reflected in Hartola’s unspoiled nature and rich local culture. Tree of Life Himalaya provides visitors a tranquil getaway surrounded by nature while honouring the destination’s unique identity.

The resort’s six rooms, which combine modern conveniences with natural materials and regional inspirations, are designed in the traditional mountain building style of the area. The apartments have large windows with views of the surrounding forests, hardwood interiors, and natural stone finishes.

The resort’s Sequoia Café offers views of the surrounding area and specialises in regional cuisines and fresh, seasonal ingredients.

A variety of activities showcasing Hartola’s natural and cultural history are available to visitors. These include jam-making sessions, guided walks thru villages and orchards, birdwatching trips, seasonal fruit picking, and interactive cooking classes using regional recipes.

Along with opportunities to interact with local craftsmen thru handcraft workshops, the retreat also includes tea experiences, stargazing activities, bonfire evenings, and local Himalayan excursions.
