Emirates introduces the industry’s first comprehensive travel coverage.

With the launch of Comprehensive Travel Cover, Emirates became the first airline in the world to provide an insurance product that combines improved travel insurance with airline-managed disruption support, such as hotel accommodations, extended-stay assistance, and medical coverage for incidents related to conflicts.
Emirates will also rebook affected passengers to their destination at no additional cost where itineraries entail connections on other airlines or when Emirates services are unavailable. This includes situations where flights have been cancelled due to disruptions caused by conflicts.
With increased medical coverage in the insurance package, supported by Travel Guard, and further disruption support from Emirates on top of the current travel insurance offering, customers can now plan and travel with even more peace of mind from the moment they book their vacation.
Among the many generous advantages of Emirates’ new Comprehensive Travel Cover include trip cancellation coverage, compensation for delayed or lost baggage, unlimited medical expenses, and emergency evacuation coverage worldwide. The recently added conflict coverage offers a free trip extension of up to 30 days and reimbursement for medical costs up to US$25,000. Government travel advice does not limit the coverage.
During certain travel delays, such as airspace closures, Emirates will offer airline-managed hotel accommodations as part of its “Fly Better” pledge and dedication to customer service. Offered as an airline service rather than an insurance benefit, this enhances current customer-friendly programs like the airline’s 24-hour “Hold My Fare” option and free date changes for qualified tickets purchased starting on April 2, giving passengers more flexibility and peace of mind throughout their trip.
The airline’s Manage Booking can be used to add the Comprehensive Travel Cover at a later time, or it can be purchased through emirates.com at the time of booking. Currently, 28 markets including the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Singapore, South Africa, New Zealand, and several other European nations offer the product. Terms, availability, and coverage may differ depending on the market.
Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline stated, “Listening to customer feedback, we realised that travel demand remains strong but there was a gap in the market with regard to travel insurance cover. As a result, we took action to meet the demands of our clients. Emirates is happy to provide an improved travel insurance policy that is as thorough as it is comforting for a greater range of circumstances in collaboration with Travel Guard, a pioneer in the international insurance sector. We are pleased to give our clients more assurance when they plan their trips to and through Dubai when they book with Emirates, given the high demand for travel throughout the summer.”
Russell Antonio, Head of Global Business and Partnerships at Travel Guard stated, “Our long-standing collaboration with Emirates is grounded in a shared commitment to elevating the customer experience. This new all-inclusive travel solution, which combines our strengths once more, offers improved protection that raises the industry standard and meets the demands of modern travellers.”
