The daily Kochi-Agatti-Kochi service is launched by FLY91.
FLY91 launched a new daily service that connected Kerala with the Lakshadweep islands with its first flight on the Kochi-Agatti sector. Services to Agatti began when FLY91’s ATR 72-600 aircraft was ceremoniously welcomed at Kochi Airport with a traditional water cannon salute prior to the first departure.
The Kochi-Agatti service began accepting online reservations last month, and the airline reported high initial demand. It is anticipated that the route will enhance access to Lakshadweep through the main aviation gateway in southern India.
“Considering Kochi’s vast domestic and international network, the daily connection greatly expands onwards travel options,” stated Manoj Chacko, Managing Director and CEO, FLY91. “This service supports the steady growth of tourism in Lakshadweep while also making essential travel for education, healthcare, employment, and commerce easier for residents of Agatti and neighbouring islands.”
The opening of the Kochi-Agatti route is in line with FLY91’s overarching goal of improving last-mile air connectivity to distant and underserved areas of India. The airline wants to increase the accessibility, dependability, and efficiency of regional air travel by connecting smaller towns and island settlements with big urban centers.
In the upcoming months, FLY91 will start operations at six additional regional stations as part of its next phase of expansion: Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Hubballi, Dabolim (Goa), Nanded, and Indore.
