Air India to offer UATP accounts to corporates and travel agencies.

Following a deal with UATP to streamline travel payments for companies and travel agencies, Air India will be the first airline in India to provide UATP accounts to consumers.

Businesses and travel agencies will be able to purchase Air India travel under the program by using a single UATP account rather than several separate payment methods. Travel spend management, transaction tracking, account reconciliation, and reporting are all made easier by the system.

In the upcoming months, the deal is anticipated to be formally disclosed, and the service will then go live. With the establishment of UATP India Private Ltd. in Mumbai and the development of an Indian currency settlement solution, it represents the ne,phase of UATP’s growth in India.

Ralph A. Kaiser, President and CEO of UATP stated, “India is a market of significant strategic importance to UATP, and Air India is the ideal partner as the first airline offering UATP in the region. We are laying the groundwork for a successful program throughout India’s travel industry by collaborating with Air India, setting up UATP India Private Ltd. in Mumbai, and creating a settlement solution for Indian currency.”

By centralising payment procedures, increasing reporting accuracy, and simplifying reconciliation, the payment framework will benefit Air India as well as its travel agency partners. Additionally, it is anticipated that the project would help the airline improve its distribution capabilities and offer more control and transparency across the payment lifecycle.

Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India stated, “With UATP, we are empowering our travel agency partners with a modern payment solution that improves efficiency, visibility, and control across the payment process. This program improves cooperation with our agency community and provides a unique payment solution that benefits the whole travel ecosystem as the travel market grows.”

When the UATP-Air India partnership launches, Air India will be able to give enterprises and business travellers more payment choices while giving its travel agency partners a unified framework for handling transactions.
