IHG Hotels & Resorts plans to open 400+ properties in India within five years.

Early this year, the company plans to launch its Luxury & Lifestyle brand, Vignette Collection, in addition to its new mass brand, Garner.
IHG properties & Resorts plans to more than increase its estate in India over the next five years, with more than 50 properties currently operating and 80 under construction, totalling about 12,000 rooms.
India continues to be a major source of growth for IHG, and in 2025, it recorded record signings for the third year in a straight. This momentum demonstrates strong owner trust in IHG’s brand portfolio and enterprise infrastructure and supports the company’s goal of having more than 400 open and in-development hotels within the next five years.
IHG currently operates hotels under eight different brands in India, including Six Senses, InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, voco, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Garner, and Staybridge Suites. These properties fall into the luxury, premium, and midscale categories and provide a solid basis for the company’s next stage of market expansion. IHG will launch its Vignette Collection brand in early 2026 as part of its ongoing portfolio expansion to strengthen its position in India’s Luxury & Lifestyle market.
Elie Maalouf, CEO of IHG Hotels & Resorts stated ,”India is one of IHG’s strategic markets globally and a key contributor to our long-term growth ambitions. Our expansion here is still supported by strong local demand, favourable demographics, and the level of trust owners have in our brands. IHG, which has 20 different brands worldwide, is deliberately growing its market share in India by giving consumers more options. The Vignette Collection’s impending launch and the enthusiastic reception given to more recent brands like Garner demonstrate the portfolio’s applicability and adaptability in satisfying changing owner and visitor demands. With a strong portfolio of hotels under construction, we are in a good position to boost growth in India and further our larger goal of expanding into important markets.”
Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts continued, “India remains one of IHG’s most active markets, supported by an underpenetrated branded hotel landscape and strong demand across business and leisure segments. In addition to the robust performance of our mainstream brands like Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express, which serve as the cornerstones of our scale in India, the launch of Vignette Collection and the quick expansion of the InterContinental and Crowne Plaza brands enhance our offering across the luxury and premium segments. We are still committed to achieving faster growth in the nation over the next five years, with 80 hotels under construction and growing signing momentum.”
IHG’s newest mid-scale conversion brand was introduced to the market in 2025 with the debut of Garner in India. Garner Etawah in Uttar Pradesh and Garner Kathua in Jammu & Kashmir were among the hotels that signed throughout the year; more hotels in Garner Kutch and Garner Bhiwadi are now in the works.
Crowne Plaza is still expanding and currently accounts for about 25% of the IHG hotels under construction in the area. As IHG’s 50th hotel to open in India, the Crowne Plaza Lucknow’s May 2025 debut was a noteworthy milestone. With agreements in towns and popular tourist spots like Srinagar, Goa, Gurugram, Mumbai, Amritsar, and the first voco opening in Jim Corbett National Park, the business has also just launched the voco brand in India. With the inauguration of Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan in 2021 and the addition of Six Senses Vana in 2023, IHG has further enhanced its premium presence.
