The capital of Vietnam, Hanoi, has recently been added to Akasa Air’s network as its seventh foreign destination. The airline will begin operating four weekly direct flights between Mumbai and Hanoi on September 4, 2026. With the launch, Akasa has strategically expanded into Southeast Asia, enhancing connectivity along the most active commerce and travel routes in the area.

Notably, Hanoi has gradually become a popular travel destination for Indian tourists due to its centuries-old history, unique architecture, and renowned culinary customs. The momentum of travel as well as the growing economic and cultural contact between Vietnam and India would be bolstered by the establishment of direct link.

Anand Srinivasan, co-founder and chief commercial officer said, “The launch of direct flights to Hanoi strengthens our presence in South Asia and marks another step in our effort to build a network that connects India with dynamic global destinations. Due to its proximity, plenty of tourism options, and rich cultural legacy, Vietnam has become one of the most popular short-haul travel destinations for Indian tourists. With the dependable and friendly service that characterises the Akasa experience, we are sure that travellers will value the improved connectivity.”

According to the airline’s official press release, reservations for flights are now available on Akasa Air’s website, iOS and Android apps, and through a number of top online travel agencies.
