Jupally Krishna Rao aims for Telangana to surpass top Indian tourist destinations.

He pointed out that the main task is to efficiently polish and package these resources in order to increase the state’s visibility and allure on the world travel map.

According to Jupally Krishna Rao, Telangana’s Minister of Tourism and Culture, the state wants to establish itself as a model for quality and innovation in Indian tourism. Speaking at a recent public event, the minister stated that rather than redefining itself, the state might become a major international tourism destination by utilising its current advantages.

In a post on X, Rao emphasised that Telangana is already blessed with great natural landscapes and a rich historical past at a time when the globe has become a global community. He pointed out that the main task is to efficiently polish and package these resources in order to increase the state’s visibility and allure on the world travel map. He urged officials and stakeholders to embrace worldwide standards for quality, service delivery, and guest experience, calling for a paradigm shift in the tourism industry.

The minister suggested a two-way cultural exchange model that connects urban growth and rural heritage as part of this strategy. International and metropolitan tourists will be exposed to the genuine customs, cuisines, and ways of life of rural and tribal groups as part of the campaign. In order to create a more inclusive tourist framework, rural and tribal inhabitants will also be exposed to the state’s urban boom through visits to historical landmarks, heritage sites, and an introduction to modern metro living. In order to enhance visitor experiences, Rao also emphasised the need to discourage quick transit visits and promote longer stays, suggesting a minimum of 48 hours. According to him, Telangana needs to not only compete with India’s top tourist destinations but also outperform them in terms of hospitality standards. In order to increase awareness, he suggested launching vigorous marketing initiatives in retail centres, IT hubs, and educational institutions. He also suggested hiring more multilingual, qualified tour guides to help with language hurdles and improve the overall experience of tourists.
