Destination NSW to Host Vivid Sydney 2026 Travel Industry Event in Mumbai.

In order to promote Vivid Sydney 2026, Destination New South Wales (Destination NSW) held an engaging B2B training session in Mumbai as part of its Aussie Specialist Program. The event, which took place at Taj Lands End on March 10, 2026, brought together influential members of the media and travel industry and provided insights into one of Australia’s most eagerly awaited events.

The purpose of the event was to acquaint agents with Vivid Sydney’s developing offer, emphasising its increasing popularity among Indian tourists. Attendees were introduced to the festival’s four main pillars—Light, Music, Minds, and Food through captivating talks and activities. Together, these pillars turn Sydney into a thriving wintertime cultural destination.

Returning from May 22 to June 13, 2026, Vivid Sydney 2026 will have an enlarged format that, for the first time, combines daytime programming with its iconic nighttime light displays.

Samar Chokshi, Destination New South Wales’ country manager for India, “highlighted the festival’s enormous potential for the Indian market during his speech. For Indian tourists, Vivid Sydney 2026 offers a unique chance to take in Australia’s largest and most vibrant festival. Vivid Sydney, which is based on the four dynamic pillars of Light, Music, Minds, and Food, “transforms the city into a vibrant cultural playground unlike anywhere else in the world,” he stated.

“Sydney’s crisp winter creates the perfect setting for outdoor exploration at night, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in interactive installations, illuminated landmarks, and unique experiences that can only be found in Sydney,” he continued, highlighting what makes the experience special.”

Key improvements for the next edition were also mentioned by Chokshi. “Some events will also be held during the day for the first time in its 16-year history, and the spectacular harbour drone show will return in 2026, giving travellers even more ways to experience the festival,” he stated.

“Combined with its ideal timing, Vivid Sydney 2026 is the perfect invitation to explore the creativity, energy, and spirit of New South Wales,” he continued, highlighting the destination’s significance for Indian tourists.”
