CLIA appoints Josh Weinstein as Global Executive Committee chair.

The CEO of Carnival Corporation & plc, Josh Weinstein, has been appointed Chair of the Cruise Lines International Association’s (CLIA) Global Executive Committee (GEC) for a two year period from 2026 to 2027, according to the organization’s announcement. Weinstein takes over for Royal Caribbean Group Chairman and CEO Jason Liberty, who held the position at a time of sustained industry expansion and recovery.

Weinstein will collaborate closely with the GEC to promote the industry’s common goals, which include safe and dependable operations, responsible expansion, and positive interactions with governments, ports, destinations, and other stakeholders across the globe. Weinstein brings decades of leadership experience in the global cruise industry to the position.

In his capacity as Chair, Weinstein will oversee the direction that the GEC gives CLIA, including assisting in the development of the organization’s strategies and continuing initiatives to promote laws that permit ethical operations, encourage innovation, bolster stakeholder confidence, and support programs that enable the cruise industry to continue providing social and economic benefits in important global markets.
