Phased Terminal 4 operations at Jeddah Airport.

In an effort to expand airport capacity and handle ongoing passenger traffic increases, Jeddah Airports Company has announced the gradual start of operations at Terminal 4 of King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) on September 27, 2026.
On September 27, flights operated by Wizz Air, AJet, and SalamAir will move to Terminal 4 as part of the first phase of the changeover. Other airlines will follow suit over the course of the next week.
All foreign airlines currently operating out of the North Terminal, as well as a few international carriers operating out of Terminal 1 and the Hajj and Umrah Terminals, will eventually be covered by the transition plan. According to Jeddah Airports, the rearrangement of airline operations is meant to facilitate passenger movement and travel procedures while increasing capacity utilisation throughout the airport.
On September 28, Fly Jinnah will shift its operations from the Hajj and Umrah Terminals (B3), while Nesma Airlines will move from the North Terminal, continuing the gradual transition.
Passengers flying between India and Jeddah would be most affected by Akasa Air’s September 29 flight move from the Hajj and Umrah Terminals (B3) to Terminal 4.
SyrianAir and Pegasus Airlines are planning to relocate from the North Terminal on October 1. On October 3, Azerbaijan Airlines and Tunisair will follow, and more airlines are anticipated to follow in accordance with the authorised operational plan.
Terminal 4 can accommodate up to 15 million travellers a year.
Terminal 4 can accommodate up to 15 million people a year and is roughly 97,000 square meters in size. The terminal has modern passenger amenities and operating systems, including a special area for group check-in processes for pilgrims performing the Hajj and Umrah.
King Abdulaziz International Airport is still seeing rapid passenger growth at the time of the launch. In 2025, the airport handled 53.4 million passengers, the most ever in a single year.
Terminal 4’s gradual activation is a component of Jeddah Airports Company’s larger infrastructure development program, which aims to improve KAIA’s operating capacity and preparedness as passenger volumes rise.
Additionally, the development advances the goals of Saudi Arabia’s aviation program under Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transport and Logistics Strategy. By 2030, the scheme aims to increase King Abdulaziz International Airport’s yearly passenger volume to above 90 million.
Since airline relocations will continue in stages, Jeddah Airports has encouraged travellers to confirm their departure terminal before arriving at the airport, either via their airline’s official channels or King Abdulaziz International Airport’s official website and social media platforms.
