Czech tourism increases North India’s trade engagement.

One of the main highlights of this outreach was the special trade workshop held in Chandigarh, where CzechTourism made connections with more than thirty local travel brokers.

CzechTourism is stepping up its on-the-ground activities across important regional markets with a concentrated push into North India, given the start of 2026 and a robust growth trajectory from India in 2025. In order to strengthen trade links and raise destination awareness, the tourist board is extending its reach in developing Tier II cities, building on growing traveller interest and changing travel habits.

CzechTourism positioned Czechia as a multi-experience European destination by interacting with the tourist industry in important North Indian markets as part of this campaign. By reaching out to high-potential regional areas with growing demand for foreign travel, this represents a strategy change away from metro-centric outreach.

One of the main highlights of this outreach was the special trade workshop held in Chandigarh, where CzechTourism made connections with more than thirty local travel brokers. Strengthening location knowledge, showcasing experiences outside of Prague, and empowering partners to create more immersive itineraries for Indian tourists were the main goals of the seminar.

Major Guneet Chaudhary (Retd.), the Czech Republic’s consul in Chandigarh, also attended the event, highlighting the region’s strategic significance. “There is clear potential to strengthen engagement across segments like film tourism, MICE, and destination weddings as outbound travel from North India continues to grow,” he said. Czechia is becoming a more appealing option for the Indian market due to its heritage, accessibility, and production-friendly legislation.

“Our engagement in North India reflects a clear shift in how travellers are planning their European vacations today. Experience-led travel is becoming more and more popular, especially in areas related to wine, beer, and cuisine, all of which complement Czechia’s advantages. We hope to establish Czechia as a comprehensive, multi-regional vacation destination for Indian tourists by expanding our presence in important North Indian markets,” stated Barbara Andelová CzechTourism’s international marketing manager for new markets

CzechTourism expanded its presence into emerging North Indian markets by making focused sales calls in Amritsar and Jalandhar in addition to Chandigarh.
