Accor signs Fairmont Rishikesh, Himalayas, for 2031 opening.

Accor has signed Fairmont Rishikesh, Himalayas, expanding its luxury portfolio in India. The resort in Rishikesh’s Shivpuri Range will open in 2031.

Fairmont Rishikesh, Himalayas will have 220 bedrooms, four dining venues, 3,000 sqm of event space, a spa, fitness center, swimming pool, kids’ club, and bespoke guest experiences on 16 acres.

In the Himalayan foothills and biodiverse Ganges valley, the resort will draw inspiration from nature and culture. Luxury leisure tourists, wellness, adventure tourism, destination weddings, and MICE in Rishikesh are its target markets.

Rishikesh, a global center for spirituality, yoga, and wellness, is also a burgeoning luxury leisure destination due to its proximity to Delhi NCR and other significant source markets. The move comes as Shivpuri-Rishikesh travellers prefer immersive, nature-led, and experiencing tourism, according to Accor.

According to Ranju Alex, CEO, Accor, South Asia, “The signing of Fairmont Rishikesh, Himalayas is another milestone in the strategic growth of the Fairmont brand in India. Rishikesh, where spirituality, wellness, and immersive travel meet, is a popular luxury tourist destination. This project shows our commitment to providing excellent hospitality to authentic and meaningful experiences while expanding our premium portfolio in the area.”

It also represents a milestone for the Javi Group as it diversifies its business operations by creating a hospitality segment. Javi Home Director Vibhor Jain stated, “We are thrilled to partner with Accor to introduce Fairmont to Rishikesh. The region has huge long-term potential, and Fairmont’s luxurious hospitality fits the area’s natural beauty, spiritual background, and growing appeal to discriminating tourists. We want to create a historic place that sets the standard for sumptuous hospitality in Uttarakhand”

Fairmont is expanding in India. It has Fairmont Jaipur and Fairmont Mumbai, plus Fairmont Udaipur and forthcoming hotels in Shimla Fagu, Goa, and Agra are in its pipeline.

Accor operates 75 luxury, premium, midscale, and economy hotels in India and South Asia. Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, Pullman, Grand Mercure, Novotel, Mercure, ibis, and ibis Styles are its regional brands. A Morgans Originals hotel, Roswyn, opened in Mumbai, expanding Ennismore’s lifestyle segment.
