William Walsh is named CEO of IndiGo.

William Walsh has been appointed CEO of InterGlobe Aviation, the parent company of IndiGo, pending regulatory clearance.

After his time at IATA ends on July 31, 2026, Walsh, who is now Director General of the International Air Transport Association, is anticipated to take up the position by August 3, 2026.

Walsh is a seasoned veteran of the international airline sector, having held executive positions at Aer Lingus and as CEO of British Airways and International Airlines Group. He is well known for his strategic leadership, operational know-how, and background in overseeing complicated market settings and large-scale airline operations.
