Air India Express Announces Direct Guwahati Gulf Flights.

As the first airline to provide nonstop service between Northeast India and West Asia, Air India Express has announced the start of direct flights from Guwahati to Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

On August 4, 2026, the Guwahati–Dubai service will start, and on August 7, 2026, the Guwahati–Abu Dhabi route will follow. The new international flights, which are Air India Express’s first overseas operations from Guwahati, are anticipated to promote tourism, trade, business, and cultural exchange while enhancing connectivity between Northeast India and the United Arab Emirates.

The Air India Express website, mobile app, and other key booking channels are currently accepting reservations for these routes.

Every Tuesday, flights from Guwahati to Dubai will depart at 12:25 and arrive in Dubai at 16:10. The return flight would take off from Dubai at 17:10 and reach Guwahati at 00:25 the next day.

Every Friday, the Guwahati–Abu Dhabi service will run, leaving Guwahati at 11:30 and arriving in Abu Dhabi at 15:15. The return service is scheduled to depart Abu Dhabi at 16:15 and arrive in Guwahati at 23:30.

With about 120 weekly flights, Guwahati is one of the airline’s biggest stations and the entry point to Northeast India. Air India Express now runs more than 290 weekly flights from Dibrugarh, Dimapur, Guwahati, and Imphal, further solidifying its position in the region with the introduction of the two new international routes.

In addition to increasing air connectivity, the airline’s “Tales of India” campaign, which features traditional regional art forms on its aircraft tail designs, continues to highlight the rich cultural legacy of the Northeast. Gamosa and Jaapi motifs from Assam, Tsõkotepsü from Nagaland, Akyobi, Moirang Phee, and Saphee Lanphee from Manipur, Idu Mishmi from Arunachal Pradesh, Khneng from Meghalaya, and Puanchei from Mizoram are among them.

According to the airline, the additional international flights will improve the region’s connectivity with foreign markets and give passengers from Northeast India direct access to two of the UAE’s top business and tourism areas.
