Air India Expands Central Asia Connectivity with Uzbekistan Airways Codeshare.

In an effort to improve communication between India and Central Asia, Air India has announced a new codeshare agreement with Uzbekistan Airways.
Air India has applied its “AI” designator code to flights operated by Uzbekistan Airways on important routes, such as Delhi Tashkent, Mumbai Tashkent, and the seasonal Goa Tashkent service, as of March 20, 2026.
With a single ticket and baggage checked through to their destination, the new codeshare alliance offers Air India customers easy access to Tashkent from key Indian gateways, as well as simple domestic and international connections on Air India’s vast route network.
Additionally, there are connections from Tashkent to Bukhara, Qarshi, Nukus, Urgench, Termez, Samarkand, Fergana, and Namangan thanks to an interline collaboration between Air India and Uzbekistan Airways.
Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India stated, “We are thrilled to partner with Uzbekistan Airways as we continue to expand Air India’s global footprint. This agreement enables us to provide our visitors with more options and convenience while bolstering India’s air connections with Central Asia, as Tashkent is becoming a more significant destination for leisure, business, and cultural travel.”
Shukhrat Khudaykulov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways, JSC stated, “The signing of the codeshare agreement between Uzbekistan Airways JSC and Air India opens a new chapter in the development of aviation cooperation between our countries. This is a big step for us in building our network of foreign routes and giving our passengers more options. I would like to thank our friends at Air India on behalf of Uzbekistan Airways JSC for their confidence and helpful collaboration. We hope that this agreement will provide a strong basis for our partnership’s future growth and the execution of additional cooperative projects in the aviation sector.”
