Emirates and Medical Tourism Association target high-value travel.

In an effort to expand its presence in one of the fastest-growing international travel verticals medical tourism Emirates has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Medical Tourism Association (MTA).

The deal is claimed to represent Emirates’ approach of expanding beyond conventional leisure and business travel to establish formal, long-term partnerships with a company that is at the forefront of medical travel.

Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates stated, “Healthcare is among the most important reasons people travel internationally and is growing significantly. Emirates is positioned where premium demand is going because to our recently formed collaboration with MTA. Our network and top-notch onboard and offboard offerings offer a natural platform to serve these travellers. We will be able to create product offerings that are truly suited to how these passengers organise, reserve, and enjoy their travels thanks to the insights we obtain from collaborating with MTA.”

“Hospitals and clinics have spent years trying to reach international patients one relationship at a time,” stated Jonathan Edelheit, CEO and founder of the Medical Tourism Association. Through Better by MTA, the demand now has a route from a worldwide airline to an accredited provider. The journey will lead to providers who fulfilll the standard.

In addition to helping the airline expand this new and developing area commercially, the partnership will work to improve industry standards and worldwide best practices. In order to better understand the development prospects of the medical travel sector, Emirates and MTA will work with providers accredited by Global Healthcare certification (GHA), the industry’s certification organization, on thought leadership, industry engagement, and shared market intelligence.
