Italy and India collaborate to improve their bilateral tourism partnership.

On September 29, 2026, Bhuvnesh Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and Emanuela Tripi, Secretary-General, Ministry of Tourism, Italy, co-chaired the 2nd India–Italy Joint Working Group (JWG) on Tourism.
A wide range of topics for enhancing tourism cooperation between the two nations were discussed, including improved business-to-business (B2B) engagement, destination twinning, cine-tourism, promotion of lesser-known destinations, and the exchange of tourism data.
The establishment of targeted technical groups and points of contact to advance the selected areas of cooperation and support ongoing engagement between pertinent parties was one of the meeting’s main outcomes.
Representatives from the Indian Embassy in Rome, the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of External Affairs were present at the meeting. Senior representatives from the Italian Embassy in New Delhi, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and ENIT (Italian National Tourism Board) comprised the Italian delegation.
In order to further enhance cultural and tourism interactions between the two nations, the two sides also talked about prospects for tourism cooperation within the framework of the proposed India–Italy Year of Culture and Tourism 2027.
The 2nd Joint Working Group meeting underlined Italy’s and India’s commitment to strengthening institutional and industrial ties and expanding bilateral tourism collaboration.
