In Mumbai, Cordelia Cruises welcomes Cordelia Sky with drone and light show.

Cordelia Cruises celebrated the arrival of its second ship, Cordelia Sky, with a choreographed spectacle employing 1,500 drones above Mahalaxmi Racecourse.

Cordelia Cruises’ five-year anniversary was commemorated by the aerial show. The drones lit up the nite sky with shapes inspired by India, Mumbai, and Cordelia Sky. The company’s third ship, Cordelia Sun, will join the fleet in October 2027, revealed at the celebration.

The evening celebrated Cordelia’s journey and its goals for Indian cruising with invited guests, business partners, and essential stakeholders.

Jurgen Bailom, President & CEO, Cordelia Cruises, commented, “Five years ago, we founded Cordelia Cruises to give cruising a holiday option for more Indians. We intended to mark our second ship’s arrival as a milestone. With Cordelia Sky joining our fleet, what better way to celebrate than in the skies above Mumbai, a city that has been essential to our journey from the start. More than a new ship is arriving tonight. It celebrates our progress and the exciting future. With Cordelia Sky sailing from Mumbai, Cordelia Empress from Kochi, and Cordelia Sun in 2027, we are taking another step toward making cruise holidays part of India’s travel, celebration, and exploration.”

With Cordelia Sky joining Cordelia Empress, the fleet will have 1,798 staterooms and 3,596 double-occupancy guests, a 126% increase over the single-ship operation.

The extension also allows Cordelia Cruises to serve two homeports concurrently, boosting its footprint in western and southern India and giving customers more cruise holiday options.

Cordelia Cruises’ third ship, Cordelia Sun, will join the fleet in November 2027. The proposed extension shows the company’s long-term commitment to boosting India’s cruise holiday sector and expanding Indian passengers’ options.

To accommodate 2,004 people in double occupancy, Cordelia Sky has 1,002 staterooms, including 245 mini suites. The ship has 10 restaurants, 11 bars and lounges, a 930-seat marquee theatre, two pools, five hot tubs, and over 30,000 square feet of deck space.

Cordelia Sky will begin commercial sailing from Mumbai on October 23, 2026, offering short and lengthy getaways. Two-night cruises, three-night Goa sailings, four-night Lakshadweep cruises, and five-night Goa-Lakshadweep itineraries are available.

The ship will also provide seven-night Southeast Asia itineraries from Chennai to Phuket, Langkawi, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore. As Cordelia Sky launches from Mumbai, Cordelia Empress will move to Kochi for commercial sailings on October 25, 2026.

Cordelia Empress will offer weekend vacations, increased Lakshadweep itineraries, and international sailings to Malé and Colombo from Kochi. The development would also add Minicoy and Kavaratti to Lakshadweep, expanding cruise holiday options.
