Monthly tourist arrivals to the Maldives reached a new high of 224,455 in December 2025, breaking the previous record of 217,392 arrivals in February 2024. Official arrival figures show that December 28 had the best daily performance in 2025, with 9,903 visitors, demonstrating strong year end demand and ongoing travel momentum.
Additionally, the Maldives recorded its best total tourism performance to date in 2025, surpassing the national target of USD 5 billion with predicted travel revenues of over USD 5.4 billion.
The Maldivian tourist industry has shown resilient and strong in the face of regional and global economic concerns, as seen by the latest numbers provided by the Maldives Monetary Authority, which show that tourism receipts increased by 15.8% year over year compared to 2024.
Arrivals and bed nights increased by almost 9.8% at the end of the year, indicating consistent demand in important source markets. The opening of new resorts and guesthouses increased bed capacity as well, bolstering the Maldives’ lodging portfolio and long-term tourism prospects.
