Rail Europe Integrates European Sleeper to Enhance Cross-Border Services.
In response to the increasing demand for overnight rail travel, Rail Europe has strengthened its cross-border offering by adding European Sleeper services to its portfolio of European rail products.
According to reports, the inclusion of European Sleeper will enhance Rail Europe’s current night train portfolio, increasing the variety of overnight alternatives on its platform and allowing partners to develop their offerings in response to the rising demand for cross-border rail itineraries.
The number of passengers using overnight services has significantly increased in recent years, according to latest industry data. For instance, according to data from the French Transport Regulatory Authority (ART), night train passenger numbers in France increased by 26% between 2023 and 2024, exceeding one million passengers in a single year for the first time in decades.
In order to meet ongoing demand, operators have continued to increase their routes and capacity into 2025. This trend is also evident throughout Rail Europe’s platform. The opportunity for new operators to grow the European night rail network is highlighted by the fact that strong demand for sleeper services frequently exceeds existing capacity.
