Bhuvnesh Kumar IAS Appointed New Tourism Secretary of India.

Bhuvnesh Kumar IAS 1995 (UP Cadre) has assumed leadership as Secretary at the Government of India’s Ministry of Tourism, according to a recent official announcement. He takes over for Srivatsa Krishna, who is now the Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs.

Additionally, Kumar was the CEO of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). He was a graduate of the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, and a gold medallist. He held a number of significant posts at the Center and in his cadre state. He continued to serve as Additional Secretary in the Government of India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in addition to being CEO of UIDAI. He previously held the position of Joint Secretary in MeitY.

He has also held the position of Principal Secretary in the Department of Fisheries, Dairy Development, and Animal Husbandry in Uttar Pradesh. In the past, he served as the Uttar Pradesh government’s Secretary of Finance, Secretary of MSME, Secretary of Technical Education, and Divisional Commissioner of the Department of Land Revenue. Among many other significant roles in his cadre, he was also the Secretary in charge of Planning, Vocational Education, and Sports and Youth Welfare, according to the official material cited by PIB.
