Adani Group and Brazilian aerospace giant Embraer will declare their intention to establish a final civilian aeroplane assembly line in India, a big step forward for the nation’s attempts to produce aircraft.With airlines increasing their fleets and new airports being built, India is one of the civil aviation sectors with the greatest rate of growth in the world.
On January 27 in the nation’s capital, executives from Adani Defence and Aerospace and Embraer will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in front of Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu. According to sources, the Final Assembly Line (FAL) will be established in the nation to produce Embraer planes.
Embraer produces up to 150-seat commercial aircraft.
Adani Group, which is already well-established in the rapidly expanding Indian aviation market, would be constructing aeroplanes in India with the FAL. According to one of the sources, Adani Group is also anticipated to begin producing the aeroplane components after the FAL is operationalised.
“A historic development in India’s commercial aviation ‘Make in India’s journey will be announced,” the two businesses stated in a joint invitation to a media conference in the nation’s capital on January 27.Embraer established a new office in the nation’s capital in October 2025 in an attempt to take advantage of the enormous growth potential in the Indian market.
The Brazilian giant will benefit greatly from the partnership with the Adani Group in India’s civil aviation market, where it hopes to offer regional planes at reasonable prices.As of right now, Embraer, whose E-Jets started operating in India in 2005, has about 50 aircraft there that are used by the Indian Air Force, government organisations, commercial airline Star Air, and business jet operators.According to a January 21 press release from Embraer, the Indian market is anticipated to need at least 500 aircraft with 80–146 seats over the next 20 years.
