Airbus A350-900 debuts for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

The first A350-900 has been delivered to the Dutch national airline KLM, which is a part of the Air France-KLM Group. As part of the airline’s continuous fleet renewal, the milestone signifies the launch of the newest generation widebody for long-haul operations. Ten A330 Family aircraft and seventeen A321neos make up KLM’s current Airbus fleet. The airline’s worldwide network will be strengthened by operating the A350 on long-haul trips from its home base at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to locations like Toronto.
With 34 Business Class suites with direct aisle access, 26 Premium Comfort seats, and 271 Economy seats, the recently delivered A350 for KLM can accommodate 331 passengers in a three-class configuration. Larger luggage capacity, sophisticated ambient lighting, high-speed satellite internet, and improved ergonomics and comfort are all features of the aircraft’s roomy and comfortable Airspace cabin, which is intended to enhance the long-haul experience for both passengers and crew.
Setting new benchmarks for intercontinental travel, the A350 is built to fly up to 9,700 nautical miles (18,000 km) nonstop. The aircraft’s cutting-edge aerodynamics and technologies provide unparalleled levels of comfort and efficiency. Compared to earlier-generation rival aircraft, it has a 25% advantage in fuel consumption, operating expenses, and carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions thanks to its most recent Rolls-Royce engines and usage of lightweight materials.
By the end of August 2026, 69 customers worldwide had placed over 1,620 orders with the A350 Family.
