Ethiopian Airlines will start operating direct flights to Atlanta again.

Following a brief disruption of the route since February 2026, Ethiopian Airlines announced that it will begin direct passenger service between Addis Ababa and Atlanta on May 21, 2026. For both business and pleasure tourists, the reopening further reinstates a crucial link between Africa and the United States.

Customers will have more flexibility and convenient access between Atlanta and the extensive Ethiopian network thanks to the service, which will reconnect Addis Ababa Bole International Airport (ADD) with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).

“Atlanta is one of the most vibrant markets in the United States, and Ethiopian Airlines is delighted to bring this route back into its network,” stated Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group, in response to the service restart. The route meets the increasing needs of visitors, business travellers, and African diaspora people who want easy access to locations throughout the continent.

Passengers connecting to places throughout the Southeast United States and other destinations throughout Africa via Addis Ababa will have easy travel alternatives thanks to the resumed service. As part of its long-term growth strategy, the airline continues to expand its transatlantic network while operating flights to other locations throughout the United States.
