FLY91 supports regional expansion by leasing two planes from TrueNoord.

As part of its gradual fleet expansion aimed at enhancing connectivity across Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets, regional airline FLY91 has added two aircraft to its fleet under long-term operating leases from regional aircraft lessor TrueNoord.

While the second aircraft, which was delivered in January 2026, is expected to start operations in February, the first aircraft went into service in December 2025. TrueNoord is now the second aircraft lessor for FLY91 as a result of this deal.

Manoj Chacko, Managing Director and CEO of FLY91, stated, “This partnership gives us the flexibility to scale our fleet in a disciplined manner, aligned with demand and our long-term regional strategy. A major reaffirmation of FLY91’s operational strengths, governance standards, and execution capability is the addition of a second leading global lessor to our portfolio,” he continued.

In keeping with FLY91’s dual-hub strategy and emphasis on underserved regional routes, one of the recently introduced aircraft will operate from Hyderabad and the other will be headquartered in Goa, the airline’s home base.

The partnership promotes responsible scaling, said Harsha Raghavan, Managing Partner of Convergent Finance and Chairman of FLY91. “Growth is made possible by the partnership with TrueNoord while upholding operational and financial discipline,” he stated.

Anne-Bart Tieleman, CEO of TrueNoord, stated, “TrueNoord is thrilled to collaborate with FLY91 and support its expansion goals.” In India, regional aviation is growing more and more feasible from a business standpoint. TrueNoord is in a good position to meet the needs of airlines like FLY91, who are looking for aircraft that can be quickly deployed, operate from small airports, and offer low trip-cost economics.

The lessor’s viewpoint on FLY91’s operational strategy is shared by Abhineet Awasthi, Commercial & Transaction Manager of TrueNoord. “FLY91 is an airline that prioritises regional connections and is nimble and execution-driven. Throughout the transaction, the team showed a practical, problem-solving mindset.

This addition brings the total number of aircraft in FLY91’s fleet to four. With two more aircraft anticipated to join the fleet by the end of Q1 FY2026, the airline, which presently serves nine locations, intends to expand its network to 15 destinations in the first quarter of 2026.
