IndiGo, Air India halt Middle East and select long-haul flights.
Citing safety and security concerns, Indian airlines IndiGo and Air India have temporarily suspended and cancelled flights on certain Middle Eastern and long-haul international routes in the midst of the changing geopolitical landscape around Iran and portions of the Middle East.
Until March 1, 2026, IndiGo will no longer operate flights to and from the Middle East and a few other overseas locations. According to the airline, the decision was made in light of the changing circumstances in the area.
IndiGo is providing complete flexibility and waivers for travel to and from the Middle East and a few other foreign locations until March 7, 2026, in order to assist impacted travellers. This is valid for reservations made on or before February 28, 2026. Consumers can choose to reschedule their trip at no extra expense or request a complete refund.
As part of its continuous evaluation of the Middle East scenario, Air India has also cancelled a number of flights that were originally planned for March 1, 2026. The airline declared that its first goal continues to be the safety and security of both passengers and employees.
Key flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Amritsar, and Bengaluru to major international hubs like London (Heathrow and Gatwick), New York (JFK), Newark, Chicago (via Vienna), Toronto (via Vienna), Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam, Zurich, Milan, Vienna, Copenhagen, and Birmingham are among the routes that have been cancelled.
The airline revealed additional cuts to certain London Heathrow services, flights to Frankfurt, and other European destinations, in addition to the cancellations that were already announced.
Air India stated that attempts are being made to help affected customers with rebooking and other travel arrangements, and that affected passengers are being informed via their registered contact details. For the most recent information, the airline has encouraged passengers to check the status of their flights on its official website or by calling its round-the-clock call center.
