ITA Airways launches Rome-Caracas direct flights on March 30, 2027.

Direct flights between Rome Fiumicino and Caracas, Venezuela, will begin on March 30, 2027, according to ITA Airways. Using Airbus A330-900 aircraft, the service will run three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, re-establishing direct air connectivity between Italy and Venezuela.

The declaration comes after Joerg Eberhart, General Manager and CEO of ITA Airways, and H.E. María Elena Uzzo Giannattasio, Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Italy, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

In order to enable the resumption of direct flights between the two nations, the agreement was achieved after talks with pertinent authorities and diplomatic representatives, including the Venezuelan Embassy in Italy.

“Rome and Caracas are once again connected by a direct flight: a service that goes beyond its commercial dimension, bringing people, families, and businesses closer together and renewing the historic bond between Italy and Venezuela,” stated Joerg Eberhart, General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of ITA Airways.

“With this route, ITA Airways is placing its connectivity at the service of relations between the two countries and of the many Italian communities that have been part of Venezuela’s economic and social fabric for generations,” he continued.

“Today we have taken an important step toward strengthening ties between Venezuela and Italy through the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding with ITA Airways,” stated H.E. María Elena Uzzo Giannattasio, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela’s ambassador to Italy. Starting on March 30, the new air service offers a strategic chance to strengthen ties between our nations. It will facilitate travel, commerce, and cross-cultural interactions while acting as a link between our communities.

In addition to helping Italian companies doing business in Latin America, the new route is anticipated to improve trade and economic ties between Italy and Venezuela.

Additionally, the program will facilitate cultural exchanges and family visits for the Italian and Italian-descendant population living in Venezuela.

Passengers departing from Caracas will have access to further connections throughout the airline’s domestic and international network via ITA Airways’ hub at Rome Fiumicino, facilitating travel to locations across Italy and Europe.

It is anticipated that adding Caracas to ITA Airways’ network will boost travel between the two nations and solidify Rome Fiumicino’s standing as a global entry point.
