Oman Air Raises Fuel Surcharge by Up to 160% Amid Rising Fuel Prices.
Following a recent spike in aviation jet fuel costs amid ongoing instability in the world’s energy markets, Oman Air has announced an increase in fuel surcharges on its international flights.
According to the airline, the updated surcharge has been raised by as much as 160%, which is consistent with actions taken by a number of carriers in reaction to growing fuel prices.
With the exception of Europe, where the modification will take effect on March 19, 2026, the new fee is currently in force throughout Oman Air’s global network. The extra will be automatically added to prices at the time of booking and does not apply to domestic flights. Unless they are voluntarily reprinted, tickets issued before the implementation date will not be impacted.
In order to assist travellers affected by ongoing regional disruptions, Oman Air has also started running extra flights throughout its network. The airline has carried around 270,000 passengers out of Muscat on more than 150 more flights since March 1, 2026.
The airline has shifted capacity to other important locations, including as London, Istanbul, Munich, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Cairo, and Mumbai, even if several regional routes are still temporarily stopped owing to airport closures.
