Hunnu Air operates direct Ulaanbaatar-Delhi flights in five hours.

With the start of direct, nonstop flights between Ulaanbaatar and New Delhi, Mongolia’s Hunnu Air has established direct air connectivity between Mongolia and India, cutting the travel duration to about five hours.
The first flight arrived at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi at 7:20 am on September 28, 2026, marking the start of the service. At 4:37 p.m. that same day, the return flight left New Delhi for Ulaanbaatar.
Every Monday, the Ulaanbaatar-New Delhi-Ulaanbaatar service will run once a week. Travel times between the two nations were formerly between 13 and 18 hours when using transit hubs like Hong Kong, Beijing, or Incheon, but the direct connection drastically cuts that time.
It is anticipated that the new service will facilitate travel in both directions. Direct link from Mongolia is anticipated to boost the potential for spiritual tourism by making travel to India’s Buddhist history and pilgrimage sites easier. Additionally, medical travel from Mongolia to India is anticipated to be supported by the route.
The service provides easier access to Mongolia for the Indian outbound market, offering winter travel options and itineraries that highlight the nation’s natural scenery, nomadic culture, and historical legacy.
Additionally, it is anticipated that the direct flight will improve commercial and business ties between Mongolia and India. Faster cargo movement between the two nations may be made possible by improved air connection, which would also strengthen their broader strategic alliance.
Visas for travel to each other’s nations are free for citizens of Mongolia and India, and e-visa services facilitate faster travel between the two markets.
In addition to providing tourism and travel companies in both nations with the chance to create new leisure, spiritual, medical, and special interest itineraries around the significantly shorter journey time, the launch offers a new international connection from New Delhi.
