Disney Cruise Line christened Disney Adventure at Singapore

Disney Cruise Line welcomed Disney Adventure – the largest ship in its fleet to Singapore, its homeport in Southeast Asia.
A 23-piece orchestra and local singers and musicians performed at the event, drawing inspiration from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel tales. Musical performances featuring iconic Disney tunes complemented by expansive visual displays were led by singer and Hollywood Performing Arts Hall of Fame inductee Jed Madela and worldwide recording artist and Eurovision performer Dami Im.
To commemorate the christening, Joe Schott, President of Disney Signature Experiences, and Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences at The Walt Disney Company and the company’s new CEO, joined the artists on stage.
Senior executives from The Walt Disney Company attended the event, and Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse also made appearances in the show.
“The Walt Disney Company has always been founded on the power of storytelling and innovation – and Disney Cruise Line brings those values to life in extraordinary ways,” stated Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Experiences, The Walt Disney Company.
“Our cruise ships serve as brand ambassadors, bringing happiness, wonder, and enchantment to locations all over the world. The Disney Adventure marks a new chapter for Disney Cruise Line as our first ship to homeport in Asia and will introduce Disney to audiences who might be experiencing our magic for the first time”, he added.
The ship was ceremoniously blessed by Disney Adventure star and Godparent Robert Downey Jr. “I’ve had the honour of getting to know the team at Walt Disney Imagineering, and I can tell you Adventure is the perfect name for what they’ve created,” he remarked. It is a privilege to serve as this magnificent vessel’s godparent, and I have some important responsibilities, so let’s make it official.

“The incredible themed areas waiting to be discovered aboard the Disney Adventure.”, said Sarah Fox, Vice President & Regional General Manager.
