Norwegian Cruise Line Launches New Caribbean and Bermuda Routes.

The ceremonial christening of Norwegian cruising Line’s (NCL) newest vessel, Norwegian Luna, in Miami represents a significant turning point in the company’s fleet growth and strengthens its position in the Caribbean cruising industry.

Over 2,000 people attended the christening event, which was held at Port Miami and adhered to traditional nautical traditions, such as the ceremonial breaking of a bottle against the ship’s hull. ELLE, a well-known street artist and Norwegian Luna’s godmother, attended the celebration and presented La Luna, the ship’s iconic hull artwork.

Marc Kazlauskas, President of Norwegian Cruise Line stated, “Norwegian Luna represents the evolution of NCL, a brand built on freedom, flexibility, and delivering experiences that resonate with every type of traveller. Norwegian Luna is the ideal ship for multigenerational travellers seeking a warm tropical vacation because it is designed to provide family-friendly attractions like the NCL-only Aqua Slidecoaster, the brand-new Moon Climber, and Luna Midway activities, as well as adult-only experiences like the late-night production of “LunaTique.” With itineraries created to take visitors to Great Stirrup Cay, our exclusive island in the Bahamas, they will have the chance to personally experience the eagerly awaited offerings that our visitors are raving about.”

“Today’s christening of Norwegian Luna marks an important milestone for our Company and a moment of great pride for our entire team. I’m excited about the amazing experiences she will provide and the thrilling future that lies ahead for our brand and our visitors as she gets ready for this unique journey stated,  John W. Chidsey, President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.

ELLE, Norwegian Luna’s godmother and hull artist stated, “Celebrating Norwegian Luna as the ship’s godmother is an incredible honour, and creating ‘La Luna’ has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my career. The moon has long been associated with rhythm, connection, and metamorphosis elements that reflect the paths we take in life. As Norwegian Luna takes them to new places, I hope each visitor is filled with awe and hope.”

Norwegian Luna, a member of NCL’s Prima Class, is 1,056 feet long, can hold up to 3,565 passengers, and is built to provide flexible, experience-driven cruising. The ship offers a variety of attractions, including novel experiences like Luna Midway, Moon Climber, and Horizon Park, as well as the dual-slide Aqua Slidecoaster with a magnetic lift system.

Large-scale shows including “Elton: A Celebration of Elton John,” “HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder,” and “A Tribute to Eagles” are among the onboard entertainment options, in addition to the adult-only late-night program “LunaTique.” Immersion experiences like “Sea of Discovery! An Under-the-Sea Festival” are part of family-oriented programming.

In addition to 17 dining options, 18 bars, and lounges with international cuisines and carefully chosen experiences, the ship offers a variety of lodging options, from solitary and balcony staterooms to suites within The Haven by Norwegian.

Norwegian Luna will run Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from April 2026 to April 2027, featuring stops at Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas and Harvest Caye in Belize, two of NCL’s exclusive island locations. The Great Life Lagoon, Vibe Shore Club, and the soon-to-be Great Tides Waterpark are recent additions to Great Stirrup Cay.

Norwegian Luna will depart from New York between April and October 2027 after its Caribbean deployment, providing four- and seven-day round-trip trips to Bermuda with extended port stays.
