Kazakhstan boosts event tourism with Solana City and a global concert lineup.

Event tourism is growing steadily in Kazakhstan, attracting more commercial interest and laying the groundwork for major destination-led initiatives. Among the most major forthcoming developments is the debut of Solana City in Astana, envisioned as a year round tourism and events hub.
Major international concert performances are planned as early as May in Astana and Almaty as part of the campaign. Globally renowned performers like Flo Rida, Nicole Scherzinger, Tyga, Busta Rhymes, Timbaland, and Keri Hilson will perform; a special guest will be revealed closer to the event dates.
Daniel Serzhanuly, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC Kazakh Tourism said, “Kazakh Tourism will establish a task force with the participation of tour operators to promote packaged tourist offers. This will allow tourists from the regions of Kazakhstan and from foreign nations to combine attending concerts with excursions and discovering natural features. This model was effectively implemented last year and has already demonstrated its efficacy.”
A total of about 30,000 spectators are anticipated in each city. Foreign tourists from India, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, and the Russian Federation have already purchased tickets for the festivities.
Commenting on the plan, Zhanar Baigozina, CEO of Solana, stated, “The Solana City project will bring together international level events in a single area. The tourism city will be open to both locals and tourists throughout the year, except festivals and performances. The concept comprises the establishment of ethno-yurts, campgrounds, glamping facilities, the development of gastronomy areas, artisan zones, and art installations. Up to 1,000 new jobs will be created by the project’s implementation.”
